SHOVELHEAD     The shovelhead engine is a classic design engine that, if built properly, can be as powerful, reliable, and long lasting as any of the more modern designs. The factory never built these engines the way they should have been built. By the end of their run they were pretty good but still left a lot of room for improvement.
    The M & M Choppers Specialty Shovelhead Engine is a classic engine that has been fully updated to modern specifications using top of the line, state of the art, modern materials. We have proven with thousands of miles of everyday riding, touring, racing, and dyno runs the dependability, power, and longevity of these engines.
    The shovelhead engine responds very well to power upgrades. It is not unusual for a strong "street" engine to put one ft/lb of torque per cubic inch displacement to the ground while the more serious "hot street" engines will, in many cases, pump out one hp per cubic inch displacement and sometimes beyond.
